Welcome and Introduction

Welcome to the XL Triathlete blog!

The title of this blog describes me fairly well.  I am a 6'6" tall, 220 pounds and 50 years old, which qualifies me as an XL by any standard.

As the tag line says,
"Adventures in multi sports with an extra large age grouper". I will be writing about my training adventures, as well as items of interest to the multi sport enthusiast.

Since becoming active 16 months ago, I have competed in a variety of events.

20 5k events placing in in the top 10 seventeen times. Nine of which were top 5 finishes.
2 half marathons
1 15k
2 Sprint Triathlons placing 1st and 4th in age group.

Oklahoma City Half Marathon 5/1/11
Tri Day Pryor Triathlon (August 2011)
Eureka Multisports Festival 8/12/11 -8/14/11 
         Going for the "Eureakan" which is the following 3 events.
         Sprint Tri on 8/12, Century Ride on 8/13,10k run on 8/14

Jay Duathlon 10/1/11
Heber Springs Triathlon 10/9/11
Tatur’s Pumpkin Holler 100 (50k) trail race 10/15/11
Tulsa Run 10/28/11 m (15k)
Route 66 Marathon 11/20/11
Assorted 5k’s through out the year in our region.
